There are several breast pumps out on the market these days but only 2, that I know of, that are battery powered and can tuck into your bra for a true on-the-go pump sesh. The Willow Breast Pump is one of the first wearable breast pumps. You can be completely hands-free and more importantly tether-free. Which means you can get on with your momlife, worklife, awesomelife, bestlife. There was a learning curve to how to pump effectively, but they have one-on-one help calls that you can set up and if that still doesn’t work you can video-chat and they can check your fit or help you troubleshoot issues with your yield. Each full battery charge will only give you 5 pump sessions so keeping them charged is important. Pump accessories and bags are expensive, and Willow is no exception. In fact, you HAVE TO use their bags which is custom-made to fit the system. This year Willow came out with reusable containers.
And while insurance will cover a breast pump when you take home a new baby, Willow isn’t on the list, yet. Overall, I’m very pleased with the Willow and would recommend it to pumping moms who are interested in an option that allows them to get on with life, rather than put it on pause to pump. There is an app where you can check how long and how much you’ve pumped. As a mom who works outside the home, I’ve loved being able to pump in the car as I’m mad dashing it on two kid pick-ups at the end of the day, especially, if I didn’t get to the mother’s room as much as I would have liked. If you are thinking about getting one but have questions, feel free to ask them here or even DM me. I’m happy to go into it more with you.
