Food on the Happiest Place On Earth
Food at Disneyland and California Adventure can be so fun! They are always changing the churro flavors and have a lot of different treats and desserts which change with the seasons. We also enjoy exploring different sit-down restaurants throughout the parks, this can be a great way to escape the heat of the day while enjoying a meal. Most of the sit-down restaurants require reservations, up to weeks or months in advance. So if you know when you’re going it’s a great idea to get dining reservations early, either directly through Disneyland's website or with the convenient Disneyland app! I find the app to be the easiest and fastest way to go. You can have your credit card, and name on file so it’s as easy as deciding on a restaurant and clicking reserve! When considering a reservation our favorite place to eat is the Blue Bayou. Located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride this momentary escape from the crowds offers an amazing atmosphere, topped with good food, it’s an experience everyone should try at least once!
The Disneyland app is also great for ordering food while running between rides. With a full list of restaurants and walkup food options available you’ll be sure to find something tasty.
One of my favorite baked treats is the Matterhorn macaroon from The Jolly Holiday, this delicious treat is great on the go! But if a little baked mountain of coconut isn’t your thing, they have a variety of other excellent choices.
As for my daughter’s favorite treat, she loves the dole whip! Dole whip is a dairy-free pineapple ice cream-like treat. This can be found at the Tiki Juice Bar inside Disneyland. As far as my husband is concerned you can’t go wrong with the chimi’s. Available at multiple food carts across the park you’re never more than a few steps away, just make sure you grab a packet of hot sauce or two to go with it.
Being a picky mommy doesn’t mean saying no to indulgence but understanding that fine balance. If you don’t believe me you can always track me down by following my popcorn trail throughout the park.
